Two Sessions, Feb 24 and Mar 2 led by Donna Hillboe DeMuth. Exciting discoveries in neuroscience are beginning to change the way we observe and understand our world, similar to the way the traditional thinking of the 16th century was challenged by the work of its scientists. However, new information, couched in technical terms, can be hard for the non-scientist to absorb. Donna, a clinical social worker, has been learning to translate this new knowledge of the brain into understandable terms, finding it extremely useful in her psychotherapy practice. She has been teaching at the University of Southern Maine, and is eager to share her experiences at UUCOV. Useful Reading: The Social Animal by David Brooks, Proust was a Neuroscientist by Johah Lehrer |
